How to make the best butter and eggs in one pan

Ingredients 1 cup butter 1 egg 1 tbsp sugar 1 tbsp salt 1/4 cup milk 1 tsp baking powder 1 tsp vanilla extract Instructions Heat butter in a large saucepan over medium-high heat.

Add egg and cook until the egg begins to turn pale yellow and is cooked through, about 10 minutes.

Add sugar, salt and milk and bring to a simmer.

Cook until the mixture becomes thick, about 5 minutes.

Stir in vanilla extract and let the mixture simmer for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Stir to break up any clumps.

Pour in the milk and mix well.

Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and cook for about 5 to 10 minutes, whisking constantly.

Once the butter has reduced and cooled, remove from heat and stir in the baking powder.

Pour into a clean bowl and cover with a clean towel.

Cover with foil and chill for about 2 hours.

Meanwhile, heat a large frying pan over medium heat.

Place the butter and egg mixture in the pan and cook over medium low heat until golden, about 2 to 3 minutes.

Remove from heat, and stir until golden brown.

Pour the remaining butter and mixture into the pan, then add the rest of the sugar and salt and cook, whisked, until thickened, about 3 to 4 minutes.

Pour over the top of the cheese and serve.
